Registration

The CLEP Principles of Management exam is administered year-round with flexible scheduling. Registration is completed through the College Board website.

To register:

  1. Create a College Board account
  2. Select the CLEP Principles of Management exam
  3. Choose your testing format (in-person or remote)
  4. Select your test date and time
  5. Pay the $97 exam fee

Your College Board account allows you to:

  • View exam history
  • Access scores
  • Request official transcripts

Testing Options

Testing Remotely

Before test day, make sure you meet system requirements and install the required testing software.

On exam day:

  • Log in to your CLEP account 15–30 minutes early
  • Download and install the Proctortrack application
  • Complete identity verification (face scan and photo ID)
  • Scan your testing room using your webcam
  • Launch the ETS Online Test application to begin

No one may enter your testing area during the exam.

Testing In-Person

After selecting your testing center, date, and time:

  • Print your exam ticket (screenshots are not accepted)
  • Arrive 15–30 minutes early
  • Bring a valid government-issued photo ID
  • Store all personal belongings in provided lockers

Scoring Information

CLEP exams are scored as follows:

  • One point is awarded for each correct answer
  • No points are deducted for incorrect or skipped questions
  • Your total correct answers form your  raw score
  • Raw scores are converted to a scaled score, typically ranging from 20 to 80

You will receive:

  • An unofficial score immediately after completing the exam
  •  An official score report the next day in your CLEP account  

Passing Score

 There is no universal passing score for the CLEP Principles of Management exam. Each college sets its own score requirements.

The American Council on Education (ACE) commonly recommends a scaled score of 50 or higher, but you should always verify your institution’s policy.
