Registration Information

Registration Steps

- Choose remote or in-person testing

If testing in-person, print your examination ticket after completing registration.
Test Day Information
In-Person Testing
- Arrive at least 15 minutes early
- Bring a valid, government-issued photo ID
- Bring your printed registration ticket
You will be required to store all personal belongings in a locker, including:
- Cell phones

- Books and notes
- Calculators
- Food and drinks
Remote Testing
On test day:
- Log in 15–30 minutes early
- Download and install the Proctortrack desktop application
- Verify your identity using a face scan and photo ID
- Use your camera to scan your testing environment
After verification, you will launch the ETS Online Test application and begin your exam under live proctor supervision.
How the CLEP History of the United States II Exam is Scored
- One point is awarded for each correct answer
- No points are deducted for incorrect answers
- No penalty for skipped questions
Your total correct answers make up your raw score, which is then converted into a scaled score typically ranging from 20 to 80.
- Unofficial scores appear immediately after you finish the exam
- Official score reports are available the next day in your CLEP account
