Registration
The CLEP Introduction to Educational Psychology test is offered year-round with flexible scheduling.
To register:
- Visit the College Board website.
- Create or log into your CLEP account.
- Pay the $97 exam fee.
- Choose your test format (in-person or remote).
- Select your date and time.
In-Person Testing
After registering, you must return to your CLEP portal and print your registration ticket. You will not be admitted to the testing center without this ticket.
On Test Day:
- Arrive 30 minutes early.
- Bring a valid government-issued photo ID.
- Bring your printed registration ticket.
- Leave personal items outside the testing room (phone, books, notes, calculators, bags, food).
A TI-30XS MultiView scientific calculator will be provided within the testing software if needed.
Remote Testing
Before registering for remote testing, ensure you meet the technical requirements:
- PC desktop or laptop only (Macs, Chromebooks, and tablets not supported)
- Windows 10 operating system (Windows 11 not supported)
- Latest version of Google Chrome
- Speaker (headphones not allowed)
- Camera and microphone
- Reliable internet connection
After scheduling your exam:
- Download the ETS Online Test application from your CLEP portal.
- On test day, log in 30 minutes early.
- Download and install the Proctortrack desktop application.
- Verify your identity and scan your testing area.
- Open the ETS Online Test application to begin.
During the exam, no one may enter your room. If someone enters, you must ask them to leave without speaking further.
How the Exam is Scored
- You receive 1 point for each correct answer.
- There is no penalty for incorrect answers.
- Your total correct answers equal your raw score.
- Your raw score is converted to a scaled score between 20 and 80.
Your unofficial score appears immediately after completing the test. Your official score report will be available the next day in your CLEP account.
Passing Score
There is no universal passing score. Each college sets its own requirements.
According to the American Council on Education (ACE), many colleges award credit for a scaled score of 50 or higher, but you should confirm with your institution.
