GACE 735 Special Education General Curriculum Registration and Costs

Registering for the GACE Special Education General Curriculum (P–12) (735) assessment is a straightforward process through the official Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators (GACE) website. 

The assessment is administered by Pearson on behalf of the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) and is offered year-round at Pearson VUE testing centers, with online proctoring available for eligible assessments.

To register for the exam:

1. Create a GACE testing account through the official GACE registration portal.
2. Select the Special Education General Curriculum (P–12) (735) assessment.
3. Choose whether to register for the complete assessment or individual testlets.
4. Select your preferred testing appointment, date, and location.
5. Pay the required examination fee and receive your confirmation email.

Registration Fee

The current fee for the combined GACE 735 assessment is $169. Candidates who register for individual testlets instead of the combined assessment pay separate fees according to Pearson's current pricing schedule.

Registration remains valid for one year, and appointments may generally be rescheduled up to 24 hours before the scheduled testing time.

GACE 735 Scoring Information

The GACE 735 uses a scaled score ranging from 100 to 300. The Georgia Professional Standards Commission establishes certification standards based on the level of certification sought.

Most candidates should understand the following benchmarks:

• 220 – Induction Certification
• 250 – Professional Certification

Passing score requirements ultimately depend on the educator preparation pathway and certification level established by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. Candidates should always verify current certification requirements before testing.

Unlike many teacher certification exams, the GACE 735 contains only selected-response questions, allowing scores to be processed more quickly than assessments that include written responses.
