GACE 706 Middle Grades Language Arts (4–8) Test Format and Structure

The GACE Middle Grades Language Arts assessment is administered as a computer-based exam consisting entirely of selected-response questions. The assessment is divided into three independently administered testlets that may be taken together during one testing appointment or separately. The GACE Middle Grades Language Arts assessment uses a scaled scoring system established by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. Candidates receive an official scaled score after all required testlets have been completed.

Many Georgia certification pathways require candidates to meet the state's qualifying score established for the assessment. Current certification decisions are based on the GaPSC's certification requirements in effect at the time of application.

Official score reports are typically released according to Pearson's published score reporting schedule.

The fee for the complete GACE 706 assessment is $84.50, while individual testlets may also be registered separately for $28.50 each.
