Is the HiSET Available in Delaware? No. The HiSET exam is not available in Delaware. The only state-approved high school equivalency test is the GED, administered through the Delaware Department of Education (DDOE). The credential earned through the GED pathway is officially called the Delaware State Board of Education Endorsement Secondary Credential.<\/span><\/p>\n

Delaware has consistently used the GED as its sole high school equivalency exam. The state’s Adult Basic Education (ABE) program \u2014 funded through the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) \u2014 provides free GED preparation classes at locations throughout all three counties (New Castle, Kent, and Sussex).<\/span><\/p>\n

What makes Delaware particularly notable is that it offers more than just the GED pathway. Delaware students also have access to the James H.
