The total time for the entire GED exam is 7 hours and 41 minutes. Scoring for the GED is based on a scale of 100 to 200, with a minimum passing score of 145 required for each subtest.<\/p>\n

Oregon GED Requirements<\/b><\/h2>\n

How Old Do I Have to Be to Take the GED in Oregon?<\/b><\/h3>\n

To take the GED in Oregon, you must be at least 18 years old. However, if you are 16 or 17 years old, you must meet additional requirements.<\/span><\/p>\n

Oregon GED Option Programs (for youth ages 16-17)<\/b><\/h3>\n

The Oregon GED Option Program is designed for in-school students aged 16-17 who wish to pursue their GED credential while still attending school. This program provides an opportunity for people in this age group to earn their GED while continuing their education.<\/span><\/p>\n

Youth between the ages of 16 and 18 may take the GED test under the following circumstances:<\/span><\/p>\n

    To obtain permission, parents or guardians should download the “Parental\/Guardian Consent Form for Oregon GED Testing for 16-17-year-olds” from the Oregon Department of Education’s GED Options website or the Oregon Higher Education Coordinating Committee’s Oregon GED Program website.<\/span><\/p>\n

    After completing and signing the form, parents should return it to Annie Marges, the Alternative Education Options Specialist, via email at <\/span>ode.ged-authorization@ode.oregon.gov<\/span>. <\/span>The form will be reviewed and approved within 5 business days, lifting the “Authorized to test” hold and the “Age” alert in the GED Manager portal. <\/span><\/p>\n

    For online testing, a parent or guardian must be present at the pre-test check-in to give consent and authorize the underage tester to be recorded during testing. If the parent or guardian is not present, the exam session will be revoked.<\/span><\/p>\n

    You do not need to prove you are a resident of Oregon to take the GED test.
